Directorate’s Message
At the Community Aid and Resilience Organization (CARO), our mission is rooted in a single, unwavering belief: every child deserves a fair chance — to learn, to grow, and to thrive in dignity and peace.
Since our founding, we have been driven by the urgency to respond to the basic needs of vulnerable communities across Afghanistan. Whether it’s ensuring access to quality education, providing lifesaving health and nutrition services, building safe shelters, or delivering clean water and sanitation facilities, CARO operates on the frontlines of humanitarian and development work. Our programs serve as more than just emergency interventions — they are stepping stones toward long-term resilience.
Education lies at the heart of our mission. We champion every child’s right to learn in safe, inclusive environments — especially girls and children affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty. We work hand-in-hand with communities to remove the barriers that stand in the way of education and basic rights — because no child should be left behind due to circumstance.
We are also deeply committed to restoring dignity through shelter and infrastructure, improving access to essential healthcare, and tackling malnutrition through community-driven solutions. Our WASH and SNFI programs are lifelines in remote and underserved regions, ensuring that families have access to the basics: water, sanitation, and a safe place to call home.
As we navigate increasingly complex humanitarian challenges, our strength lies in the trust we’ve built with local communities, our partnerships with like-minded organizations, and the tireless dedication of our team.
We believe in sustainable solutions, in empowering the people we serve, and in keeping children — their voices, their futures — at the center of everything we do.
Let us stand together — for education, for resilience, and for a brighter tomorrow.
